The Day I Die

November 7, 2009

the day I die

will be hot and sunny

rainy

or maybe partly cloudy with a 20% chance of showers in the afternoon

the weather doesn’t matter

the point is

I’ll be dead

afterwards the world will be a little bit worse

and

(let’s be honest here)

also a little bit better

the Earth will keep on spinning

a soccer mom rushes the kids to school

an old man forgets his dentist appointment

it won’t matter that I’m not there

regardless of the weather

good or bad

sun or rain

I won’t enjoy it

or complain

come to think of it

my death won’t matter very much at all

except to me

because I’ll be dead
